We are excited to welcome Megan Leith to the True Grit team! Megan is a Senior Stylist in the New Generation Team. Here’s a little Q&A we had with her recently …
Hi Megan, can you tell us a little bit about yourself?
I come from Oamaru and I am new to True Grit starting in February 2016. I am a trained hairdresser and beauty therapist which is an advantage when it comes to weddings and formals as I can help create the whole look for my clients.
What are your qualifications?
After completing a Beauty Therapy course at the end of 2008 I went on to start a hairdressing apprenticeship becoming a qualified hairdresser in 2012.
Why do you love being a hairdresser?
I’m very passionate about hair and love the creative side of competing in competitions especially for photo shoots for which I have been a finalist for my region for the NZARH editorial stylist for the last three years and winning my section in 2014. I am also always keen to expand my knowledge by attending courses regularly.
What has been your career highlight to date?
I felt lucky to work backstage at the 2015 NZ Fashion Week in Auckland and that has been one of the highlights of my career so far.
Who is your hair inspiration?
One person I admire in the hairdressing industry is Sharon Blain who is a long hair styling expert, I found her very inspiring when I attended one of her workshops in Auckland in 2014.
Anything else you’d like to add?
I am excited for my new journey here at True Grit and look forward to expanding my knowledge and client base. I can’t wait to meet you all.
It’s $75 for a cut and finish with Megan.
