Sunescape is an award-winning Australian-made and owned sunless tanning range that delivers natural-looking colour with an absolutely delicious tropical scent! We’ve been lucky enough to stock it in the salon for three years now, and though the years may have passed, no way has our LOVE subsided for this product!

Here’s a little bit bit more about why we love Sunescape’s story and ingredients…

BORN IN BONDI, MADE IN AUSTRALIA

Sunescape was born in Sydney’s iconic Bondi Beach, as the brain child of Matt and Lisa Williams who are the owners and directors of the salon-only beauty distributor, Professional Beauty Solutions. They created Sunescape to meet the demand for a no-nasties tanning range that gave skin a healthy colour, without dryness, streaking, patchiness or the dreaded orange undertone.
“We knew that if we were going to launch a new tanning brand to market, it had to be superior to anything else out there. The tan had to look natural, fade evenly without drying the skin, and smell good.” – Matt Williams, founder
“We set ourselves the task of creating formulas that were rich with skin-nourishing ingredients and would give a natural-looking tan you’d swear was the result of a holiday in a tropical paradise.” – Lisa Williams, founder

PERFECTED AT AN AWARD-WINNING TANNING SALON

Matt and Lisa tweaked and tested their Sunescape range weekly for two years at one of Sydney’s busiest tanning salons – Tan Temple. They relied heavily on the therapist and client feedback they received here, and it was instrumental to their formulation process.
“We knew we were onto something when Tan Temple’s clients started to say ‘Whatever you sprayed me in last time, I want that again!’” says Lisa. “Matt was trialling the final formula and a friend at the gym asked if he’d just come back from holidays, and that’s how the names of our shades were born!”

HEALTHY, SKIN-LOVING FORMULAS

One of Sunescape’s many great qualities is that it’s formulated without harmful ingredients. Sunescape products use certified natural DHA and are fortified with vitamins, antioxidants and plant oils that nourish the skin, and anti-ageing, hydrating and firming ingredients that leave skin smooth and replenished. In the same way of course, all Sunescape products are free from parabens, petrochemicals and formaldehyde, are proudly vegan and cruelty free, and their original formulas alcohol free – making them the perfect choice for sensitive skin types.

“WHERE’VE YOU BEEN?”

Sunescape has a tanning product for you no matter your skin tone! Whether you’re after a tan that looks like you’ve spent a Weekend in Bondi (light), a Week in Fiji (medium), a Month in Maui (dark) or a Summer in Santorini (ultra-dark), there’s a shade for every skin type and tone, which is why it’s no surprise Sunescape has become the go-to tanning formula for celebrities, influencers, models, brides and of course, everyday men and women who want to look like they’ve just returned from holidays, all year round!

HEre’s a Sunescape Ingredient RunDown

Filled to the brim with skin-loving ingredients, vitamins, antioxidants and hydrating oils, the Sunescape formulas enrich the skin and impart a tan that looks and feels natural. It also boosts skin quality with anti-ageing, hydrating and skin firming ingredients – leaving skin smoother and more replenished than any other tan can. Sunescape uses certified natural DHA derived from beetroot and rapa seed, and is 100% FREE from petrochemicals, parabens, sulphates and other common nasties.

Vitamin E

Vitamin E is known as one of the most healing and effective anti-oxidants in the skincare and haircare world. It protects the skin from everyday environmental exposure and damage due to lifestyle factors. Vitamin E is an essential fatty acid which helps form the membranes that protect the skin cells, preventing the formation of dry and scaly skin.

Argan Oil

Organic Argan Oil is high in proteins, which may help to improve skin tightening and protect skin’s elasticity. This nourishing oil provides intense hydration as it is said to restore the natural barrier of the skin, allowing for greater moisture retention. Assists in skin regeneration and prevention of premature ageing due to external aggressors, and it can also help reduce skin irritation and inflammation.

Macadamia Oil

Widely considered the best of the nut oils for its fantastic regenerative effects and hydrating properties. It is gently absorbed by the skin and can provide a long lasting soft and silky feel. Macadamia oil is rich in mono-unsaturated fatty acids (palmitoleic acid, omega-3 and omega-6) which may help to delay premature ageing. It has also been successfully used to assist in restoring scars and sun damage.

Coconut Oil

Contains a naturally high nutrient level of vitamins A, B, C and E as well as antioxidants that soften, revitalise and rejuvenate dry, damaged skin. Its small molecular size also makes it easily and readily absorbed into the skin.

Avocado Oil

Avocado oil may help to enrich protein and vitamin content with its high levels of oil-soluble vitamins. Well-suited for dry skin types, Avocado oil has great moisturising properties and can leave the skin feeling smooth and nourished. Said to penetrate deeply into the skin, it can also promote skin repair with its abundance of lecithin and plant sterols.

Aloe Vera

Aloe vera extract is renowned for its moisturising effect and is said to deeply penetrate the skin, delivering hydration directly to the tissue. Aloe also works to improve skin tone and colour by increasing the blood flow to the areas of application. It provides a soothing and calming effect and can reduce skin redness and irritation.

Kakadu Plum

A native plant to Northern Australia the kakadu plum contains the highest known levels of Vitamin C concentration of any single natural food source and has been used for thousands of years as a traditional antiseptic and skin healing remedy by native Australians. Vitamin C is essential for the formation of proline, an amino acid required to make collagen. It is also used to improve skin’s natural appearance, reduce irritation of dry skin and prevent future damage.

Chamomile

Commonly used to relieve inflammatory skin conditions and calm sensitive skin. It is rich in B vitamins and can be used to soothe, moisturise and inhibit the growth of bacteria.

Kiwi Seed Oil

Kiwi Seed Oil is one of the richest sources of essential fatty acids, containing over 60% omega-3 alpha-linolenic acid. It is known to be highly nourishing and can help to restore elasticity to aged and damaged skin. Also rich in phytonutrients, minerals and vitamins C and E, Kiwi Seed Oil assists with moisture retention.

Green Tea

A potent antioxidant rich in polyphenols. Antioxidants help in alleviating dry skin by bringing the skin’s natural moisture content back into balance.

Grape Seed Extract

Grape seed extract contains powerful antioxidants (oligomeric proanthocyanidins – OPC). The OPCs in grape seed extract contain 20 times the antioxidant power of Vitamin E and 50 times the antioxidant power of Vitamin C, and work to protect and enhance the skin’s appearance.
