Congratulations to our very own apprentice of the year; Ashlee Van Wijk! Ashlee has been named as HITO’s Apprentice of the Year for the Northern South region.   As a regional winner, Ashlee is now a finalist for the overall HITO Apprentice of the Year Award. Ashlee will be heading to the HITO Industry Awards on Sunday 13 November in Auckland and we wish her good luck from all of us at True Grit! True Grit’s been in Melbourne for the Hair Expo!

Jacqui, Sarah and Ashlee have been in Melbourne for the Australian Hair Expo and Awards. We were nominated for Best Salon Design and although we didn’t win (congratulations Edward and Co Alexandra!) the team had a fantastic time and were wowed by the truly inspirational hairdressers in Australia. They attended many look-and-learns and discovered new styles of cutting and colouring which they’re keen to put into practice back home in the True Grit salon.
