What are the main causes of dandruff?
Did you know the three main causes of dandruff? Like any type of skin, the scalp is constantly renewing itself by shedding dead cells and growing new ones. Every 14 days, the new cells coming from the scalp’s deepest layers arrive at the surface, pushing the old cells outward. Normally, these cells detach easily during shampooing, so they’re not visible in the hair.
Stress, fatigue, hormonal changes and external aggressors can cause the micro-organism Malassezia restricta to proliferate at the expense of other beneficial mico-organisms. The scalp becomes unbalanced.
