Naomi Anderson, our L’Oreal Colour Expert and one of our Style Directors at True Grit went to New Zealand Fashion Week 2018 to help on the L’Oreal Pro backstage team.

What do you love about NZFW?
I love all things fashion and seeing the clothes, makeup and hair come together on the catwalk. It’s amazing to be surrounded by like minded people, to work with some of the best in our industry and to be amongst the buzz of fashion week.
What were you inspired by at NZFW 2018?
I really liked the effortless texture this year with a lot of the looks. My fave was the twisted Mohawk for Fashion Quarterly.
How will your experience at NZFW 2018 benefit yours and True Grit’s clients?
I think keeping up with the current trends is an important part of working in the hair/beauty, fashion game. It’s so important to do things like fashion week to and step outside of the salon to inspire us as creatives. It brings us fresh new ideas & techniques and then we can incorporate them in our every day work.
As a high-end salon our clientele are asking our advice everyday: looking for change no matter how big or small. So it’s important to keep up with the latest trends to teach and share our knowledge.
