The Collective is a group of local and international artists coming together under one roof over two days to showcase the latest in global hair trends and fashion. As industry professionals leading the way in innovative and edgy hairstyles, they have a responsibility to bring world class education to New Zealand, and translate this into tangible trends and information that can be taken back into the salon.
The Collective is not just all talk and no play either, with stylists from around the country also getting to show their skills at the Fashion Hair Awards where five awards highlighting professional skill, creativity and business success within the hairdressing industry are given out to the best in the business. We asked the True Grit team what they thought of the experience.
‘What a fantastic time team True Grit had at The Collective in Auckland. It was a great time for the team to collaborate with other stylists from around the country and for them to see some inspiring and creative work presented by international artists. Tabatha Coffey was a hot favourite as a speaker inspiring all of us stylists and owners to do the very best we can within our salons. It was also a fabulous time for the team to get together and socialise over three days. Watch out Auckland we will be coming up again next year!’ Jacqui
‘The whole experience was inspirational and it’s amazing taking what we learned and putting it into action in salon’. Amber
‘Such an inspiring weekend, lots of knowledge and techniques learnt. Highlight was definitely seeing Tabatha!!!’ Libby Morton
‘Tabatha Coffey was amazing to listen to, reinforced the fact that you can never judge a book by its cover!’ Samantha
‘Very inspiring fun weekend. Great having the girls together experiencing all the creativity and exciting new trends and techniques. I loved the fashion show and awards night. Best weekend away learning and having a great ol’ time with the girls.’ Casey
‘The Collective was amazing over 2 days being inspired by some of the best in the industry. Giving us tips and tricks for photo shoots, fashion events and everyday hair as well as business advice from celebrity Tabatha Coffey. A great team building experience away with the Truegritters.’ Naomi
‘An awesome weekend away with the team up to Auckland for the Collective . So lucky to be around some of the worlds best and to be inspired for the winter months ! Learnt some great little techniques on seamless balayage and colour melting. I also enjoyed the more editorial looks and took on board some different looks for competition work.’ Haley
